Design & Display:

These devices are built really well with a 3D quad curved glass on the back which uses high precision abrasive etching technology which makes it a anti-glare and fingerprint proof glass. The frame is made up of plastic. The front glass is made using  a 2.5D Gorilla Glass 5 , which is the highest rated glass  Corning is offering right now. They are available in two color options namely Arctic White and Glacier Blue.

Both the Realme X3 and Realme X3 Superzoom offer a 6.57 inch 20:9 FHD+ display with a resolution of 2400x1080 pixels. It is still an LCD panel but it comes with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and has a 90.5% screen-to-body ratio. This display can get upto 480 nits at peak brightness. Even though its not an OLED panel, it offers a lot and provides great experience for the user.

Hardware & Performance:

Processor:

Both the devices are equipped with last year's Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor and offers a clock speed of up to 2.96 GHz. The Antutu Benchmark for this device is 517,743 where the company claims that it is the "highest score among all the smartphones equipped with SD 855+" ,thus making it more powerful than the other SD 855+ devices. Combining SD855+ with 120Hz refresh rate of the display the buyer can enjoy seamless gaming without any lag or frame drops.

Memory & Storage:

The Realme X3 is available in 6GB and 8GB RAM models whereas the Superzoom version comes in 8GB and 12GB variants. None the less every variant is capable of  handling heavy apps very well and multitasking is not a problem. One thing which is nice from Realme is that even the least variant comes with 128GB of memory with UFS 3.0  which enables the device to have much faster read and write speeds. Only the top end variant of Superzoom version is equipped with 256GB of storage.

Battery & Other Specs:

Both the devices has a 4200mAh battery and supports 30W Dart Charging, which can charge the device completely in 55 min. The fingerprint sensor is side mounted and unlocks the device in just 0.3 sec. The devices are also equipped with a liquid cooling system to get those temperatures low while using heavy applications or gaming. Both are USB C and also equipped with Super linear speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio certified. Both have Dual Channel GPS for more faster and accurate results.

When coming to the software, both the devices come with Realme UI based on Android 10.

Camera:

Until now there are no major differences between the Realme X3 and Realme X3 Superzoom. This is the segment  where the Superzoom version slightly differs the regular version. Lets talk about them individually.

Most of the midrange smarphones come with good hardware and a mediocre camera but Realme has done it in a differently now. That's where the Realme X3 Superzoom comes into picture.

Realme X3 Superzoom:

It has a quad camera arrangement on the back. The primary sensor is a 64 MP F/1.8 Main camera, which enables the user to take images with much  more detail and sharpness. The second one is a 8 MP F/3.4 Periscope lens which has an ability to zoom 5 times via optical zoom and can further zoom up to 60 times digitally, thus resembling the name of the device "Superzoom" and also has built in Optical Image Stabilization(OIS).The third is a 8 MP F/2.25 Ultra Wide Angle with and a field-of-view of 119° and the last and final camera is a 2 MP F/2.4 Macro sensor which also gives an option to the user to take some close macro shots.

It has a dual punch hole setup on the front, comprising a 32 MP F/2.45 Sony IMX616 main camera and a 8 MP F/2.2 Ultra wide angle with a field-of-view of 105°. Both are Electronic Image Stabilized.

Realme X3:

The Realme X3's camera is setup is nearly identical to the other version. The only differences are instead of the 8 MP Periscope camera it comes with a 12 MP F/2.48 Telephoto camera and misses out the 32 MP camera on the front but instead comes with a 16MP F/2.05 sensor. It offers only 20 times hybrid zoom.

Other thing Realme has put on a lot of effort is on their Night Mode photography. They call it as Nightscape 4.0. Realme is offering 5 different  modes for different purposes for better Night Photography. They are Starry mode,Tripod mode,Ultra Nightscape,AI Super Nightscape and Pro Nightscape. Even the front camera comes with a Selfie Nightscape mode.

Here is a quick image of  all the night modes and their uses (Source: Realme)

Both are capable of recording 4K at 60 fps and uses UIS and UIS Max Ultra image stabilization technology for further reduction of shake in the video.

The Pricing: The Realme X3 is priced at Rs.24,999 (6GB+128GB) and Rs.25,999 (8GB+128GB)The Realme X3 Superzoom starts at Rs.27,999 (8GB+128GB) and Rs.32,999(12GB+256GB) and are available to pre-order till June 27th 11:59 PM and
will be on sale on 30th of June from 12 PM.

The Verdict: The Realme X3 really stands out in the midrange segment and is easily recommended especially looking at the price. If you are really not into that zoom and ok with the 16 MP front camera you can go for the Realme X3 instead of  Realme X3 Superzoom and save couple of thousand ,because the rest of the hardware are exactly the same.

You can pre-order it on Flipkart (India) or Realme.com
