We all know that Oneplus has stepped into a different segment by launching their premium high end OnePlus TV Q Series last year.Now OnePlus has launched their brand new mid-range and more affordable TV Series. The OnePlus TV U1 and OnePlus TV Y1.

Design:
The OnePlus TV U1 comes with a slim gorgeous design with a thickness of 6.9 mm which is nearly identical to the thickness of a smartphone and even lesser than some smartphones.The bezels on this display are very minute only the bottom bezel is noticeable and offers a screen to body ratio of whopping 95.5% which makes it more stunning and elegant. Oneplus has added a carbon fiber pattern cover on the back over the hardware components and the rest is a strong alloy which makes it sturdy and stunning at thee same time.The stand is made up of high strength metallic material which makes it super stable. Even the ports are hidden behind the carbon fiber cover which makes it look much more cleaner from the back.
The Verdict: With all the hardware and software OnePlus is offering every TV can be considered as a true value for money.If you are person who is looking for a Smart TV less for than Rs.15,000 the OnePlus TV Y1(32-inch) can be easily recommended or if you want a 43-inch but don't want to go beyond Rs.25,000 the OnePlus TV Y1 (43-inch) offers it all and finally for a price range of Rs.50,000 you can find several other options with a bigger display but doesn't have the same amazing quality of the OnePlus TV U1 and also you will be missing out seamless experience of OnePlus software.So if you want an amazing display with seamless Android TV experience OnePlus TV U1 is the go to TV.
Display:
The OnePlus TV U1 offers a 55inch 4K UHD LED display with an incredible 93% DCI-P3 color gamut which puts in a wide range of colors and OnePlus claims that it is highest ever rating a TV ever produced in this price category.They are calling it the OnePlus Cinematic Display which packs in a lot of features.The display is HDR10 HDR10+ HLG ceritified and also include Dolby Vision on the top which optimizes frame by frame and handling dynamic range,thus producing a much better picture quality with vivid colors.There is a image quality optimization engine called GAMMA Engine which makes animations much smoother, reduces the noise, handles color space mapping,dynamic contrast and anti-aliasing thus enabling the user to choose between 9 modes of picture like Eye Protection,vivd,film,sports etc for different purposes.
Audio:
When coming to the audio the TV comes with a 30W audio system with 2 full range speakers and 2 tweeters.Even though the TV is thin they have managed to fit in big full range speaker than the traditional TVs which results in 50% more bass than traditional TVs.It is also Dobly Atmos certified which gives the buyer a much better surround sound experience.

Software:
The OnePlus TV U1 comes with the latest Android TV version with added custom apps like File Browser,Shared Album,Weather,Bluetooth Stereo,Pictorial and Live TV.The Shared Album allows the user to seamlessly share pictures from phone directly on to the TV.It also comes with OnePlus Connect and Oxygen Play.It also comes with Data Saver Plus which allows the user to control bandwidth and set data alerts. It also features kids mode with options like set timer,enable eye protection and many more.When coming to voice control it can be controlled via Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa.It also comes with Google Play Store and Builtin Chromecast.
OnePlus Connect:
OnePlus Connect allows the user to link their phones (including iPhones) to the TV(max 5) and can be used as a remote and adds features like poping up a keyboard when needed, automatically reducing the volume when a phone call come in or even take a screen shot of the TV and send directly using the smartphone.
Oxygen Play:
Oxygen Play is OnePlus' own streaming platfrom where the user can watch content from other platforms like Prime Video,Netflix,YouTube,ZEE 5,Disney+,Voot,Eros Now,Hungama Play and many more which makes the user to find everything at one place and seamlessly enjoy content. Spotify and jio Saavan are also available to listen to your favorite music on the go.

Design and Display:
The OnePlus TV Y Series also offers a slim bezel less design and is available in two different size variants 32-inch and 43-inch.The 43-inch variant comes with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 which makes it Full HD and has a screen to body ratio of 88.5% where as the smaller 32-inch variant has a resolution of 1366 x 768 which only offers a little more than HD and has a screen to body ratio of 91.4% but for those prices i can't really complain, keeping the resolutions aside both the displays are OnePlus Cinematic Displays which means the Y series takes in features like 93% DCI-P3 wide range color gamut and GAMMA Engine for all the optimizations mentioned earlier.
Audio:
Both the models comes with a 2 x 10W speakers making a 20W audio system. It also has Dolby Audio which enables the users to have a much better stereo sound experience.
Software:
Most of the TVs in this price range doesn't even come with a dedicated Operating System. The OnePlus TV Y series comes with the latest Android TV version.It carries all the features like OnePlus Connect,Oxygen Play and custom apps which are present in the OnePlus TV U1. So easily software is the strongest segment of the Y Series. Everything is same exactly as the OnePlus TV U1. So the OnePlus TV Y Series really stands out among other competitors in this price segment.
