OnePlus as promised, is back to the mid-range smartphone market with its new OnePlus Nord smartphone. OnePlus Nord launched on 21st July, 2020 in India. With this smartphone OnePlus is going to give a tough competition to all its rivals in this price segment. Here all all the specifiations, features, pricing and availability of the new OnePlus Nord.

Design and Display
OnePlus Nord comes with the classic OnePlus design with glass back and metal frame. The glass on the back is not a matte glass like the OnePlus 8 series so it attracts fingerprints. That being said the glass back looks beautiful and feels premium in the hand. OnePlus Nord has dimensions of 158.3 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm and weigh about 185 grams. There is no official IP certification on this device but it can withstand splashes of water. The phone manages to keep the alert slider which we all love.
On the display front we have a 6.44 inch Fluid Amoled display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display has a 20:9 aspect ratio and pixel density of 408 ppi. The display also has 2,048 levels of automatic brightness for smoother brightness transitions. The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 glass. The good thing here is that the display supports 90 Hz refresh rate. This just adds to the smoothness of the entire device. Although the display does not support HDR, its hard to ask for at this price point. The FullHD+ Amoled display coupled with 90 Hz refresh rate is good enough to provide good media consumption experience.

Performance
OnePlus Nord is powered by the upper mid-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G octa-core processor with Adreno 620 GPU. OnePlus claims that this processor has improved CPU speeds and 30% faster graphics rendering than its predecessor. This phone is 5G ready as the processor comes built-in with Qualcomm Snapdragon X52 5G Modem. OnePlus Nord comes with 6GB/64GB, 8GB/128GB and 12GB/256GB Ram and storage options. Unlike the OnePlus 8 series, the storage used here is UFS 2.1. As the Snapdragon 765G performs better than the Snapdragon 845 and having upto 12GB of Ram, the phone can breeze through any application you throw at it with ease. With the improved graphical performance and the 90 Hz refresh rate, gaming experience should be pretty smooth as well.
Cameras
OnePlus Nord comes with a quad camera setup on the back. It borrows the same primary sensor present on the OnePlus 8. It is a 48 MP f/1.8 Sony IMX586 sensor. This sensor is also equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) for smooth and stable videos. OnePlus 8 camera performance has been solid in daylight as well as low light, so we can expect similar results on the OnePlus Nord as well. The remaining three cameras include a 8 MP f/2.5 ultra-wide camera with 119 degree field-of-view,a 5 MP f/2.4 depth sensor and a 2 MP f/2.4 macro camera. OnePlus Nord can record videos at 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps.

On the front, the display has a dual punch hole which houses a 32 MP f/2.45 Sony IMX616 primary camera and a 8 MP f/2.45 ultra-wide angle lens with 105 degree field-of-view. The front camera supports video recording upto 4K@30/60fps and 1080p@30/60fps.
The camera also comes equipped with features such as Nightscape, UltraShot HDR, Pro Mode, Super Macro, portrait mode etc.
Other Specifications
The entire device is powered by a 4115 mAh battery. The phone supports 30W Warp Charge 30T technology which can charge the phone from 0-70% in just 30 minutes. This charging technology can also keep the phone cool during heavy usage.
OnePlus Nord has a single bottom firing speaker and USB Type-C 2.0 port. On the connectivity front we have 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth v5.1 with aptxHD, NFC, Wi-Fi 802.11. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner, acclerometer, gyro compass and proximity sensors.
On the software front, OnePlus Nord runs on Oxygen OS 10.5 based on Android 10. This is very close to stock and also comes with pre-installed google apps such as Messages, Phone and Duo. The usual features such as dark mode, gaming mode, gesture navigations, zen mode are also present. OnePlus promises to provide 2 years of software updates and 3 years of security updates for this phone, just like its flagship counterparts.
Pricing and Availability
OnePlus Nord starts at Rs 24,999 for the 6GB+64GB variant, Rs 27,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant and Rs 29,999 for the 12GB+256GB variant. The phone is availabe in Blue Marble and Grey Onyx color options. OnePlus Nord will be available for purchase through Amazon and OnePlus India official website from 4th August, 2020.
