Vivo X50 Pro : The Smartphone with a GIMBAL

Vivo has reviled their new Flagship device the Vivo X50 Pro on 16th of July. Vivo is always on the front of the line in bringing new technology to smart phones. They have introduced the first under display fingerprint sensor ,the first pop-up camera and now Vivo has built a high end physical stabilization system in one of the camera sensors which stabilizes the video like like a gimbal.

Design & Display:

The Vivo X50 Pro comes with both front and rear glass curving towards the frame and a frost finish on the back gives it a premium feel while holding. The glass used is SCHOTT Xensation UP which gives you protection from drops and scratches. The bezels on top and bottom are very minute and the sides are curved as mentioned. The camera bump is slightly on the larger side. The device is available in only one color option,Alpha Grey.Overall the device is completely well built with premium design.

This devices houses a gorgeous 6.56 inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2376 x 1080 pixel and a screen-to-body ratio of  whooping 92.6%.The display also packs in 90 Hz refresh rate with 180 Hz touch response which make it even more smoother. The display is HDR10+ certified which means you will be getting richer colors and higher dynamic range. This display can get upto 1300 nits at peak brightness thus using it in bright day light isn't a problem. With all those features packed in this display provides pure entertainment and seamless experience for the user.

Camera:

The Vivo X50 Pro comes with a quad camera arrangement on the back comprising a 48 MP main camera with a f/1.6 aperture. This sensor is a customized version of  Sony IMX598 which allows it to pair up with the gimbal system for that ultimate stability. The traditional OIS system allows the camera to adjust only in 2D whereas this gimbal system uses mechanical movement in all three directions to adjust the sensor in 3D which allows it to cover angles 300% larger than the traditional OIS. Then comes a 13 MP 50mm f/2.46 2x Zoom professional portrait camera for taking stunning portraits, a 8 MP f/2.2 ultra wide with a 120° filed-of-view and finally a 8 MP periscope lens with a aperture of f/3.4 which gives you a 5x optical zoom and a 60x hybrid zoom.

This device also packs in 4 axis Optical Image Stabilization with EIS. Also a point to be noted is, that custom IMX598 sensor has 10% more light sensitivity than the normal sensor thus Vivo is offering extreme night vision and super night mode 3.0 combined with AI Noise cancellation algorithm for those extreme low light situations to capture more light and detail with less noise. It also has motion AF tracking which always keeps focus on a moving object.
The front camera comes in a punch hole design with a 32 MP f/2.45 sensor which also include modes like super night selfie and portrait.

Now coming to the video it is capable of recoding upto 4K at both 30 fps and 60 fps.

Hardware & Performance:

The Vivo X50 Pro is power by the new Snapdragon 765G processor with Adreno 620 GPU.It is 5G ready. It comes in 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.1 storage.Looking at the price the SD 765G is not a ideal cpu but it provides nothing less. The It is a powerful chip-set and can pretty much handle any task you throw at it in fact it is more powerful than SD845. So performance wise there is nothing to worry about. It has a 4315 mAh battery and comes with a 33W flash charger(usb-c).It is also
Hi-Res audio certified which enables the user to have a better audio experience. It has a in-display finger print sensor for authentication.

Coming to the software, the operating system is Funtouch OS 10.5 which is based on Android 10.

. . . . .

The Pricing: The Vivo X50 Pro is priced at RS.49,990 and will be available to purchase on 24th of July on Flipkart.com and Amazon.in.

The Verdict: Vivo has finally made a smartphone which is premium and unique in its own way. That stabilization system is not seen in any other smartphones. The device is built really well with stunning design and display. The only downside is the chip-set, if the device is priced a little bit lower i shouldn't have complained about it but looking at that price i am not really sure whether it can compete with companies like OnePlus. If you are someone who is looking for a smartphone with good performance, excellent display and great photo and video capturing for a decent price the Vivo X50 Pro is the go-to.
